We've had a busy couple of weeks, and were lucky to have Drew Young and his band here working on his new EP. The session brought in tons of great musicians from all over the country, and was produced by the incredibly talented Brady Blade.

The Lee Boys

We've had the Lee Boys at Dockside tracking some great "Sacred Steel" music. They've got a great blend of Gospel, Funk, and R&B. This is there first release in about 5 years, so the boys are really hyped to be here. Check out their website for more information on the band: Leeboys.com

Full Moon Fever

We just finished recording Dr. John. The session was courageous and from another planet in true Dr. John fashion. What an awesome experience! This is his third record here at Dockside Studio and we are looking towards another Grammy to follow his 2009 win. After their stay in Maurice they headed off for their world tour. We missed our dear friend Bobby Charles who was with us in spirit even for the full moon sessions which were always his favorite time to record. It brings out the creative energy full force.

Recently we embarked on a 6 week creative venture with our new friends MENEW. For those who don't know of MENEW, they are surely worth checking into. The 4 piece Canadian rock group are recording "The album they've always wanted to make." We are about at the halfway point and the album sounds smashing. Randy Rogers Band Appear on Jay Leno!

Randy Roger's band played a track off of their new album last night on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. The critically acclaimed self titled album has been called country album of the year by playboy magazine and has certainly proven itself among fans. The album was recorded here with producer Radney Foster and engineer Justin Tocket and was an absolute pleasure to record. Congrats to the RRB!

New Studio Puppy!

He goes by the name of Lincoln and is a rescued Chocolate Lab / Blue Heeler mix. He is the replacement of the famous black lab "Buddy" who passed away this winter. Here is a picture of him tickling the ivories.
